I am currently a senior student at Westmont College, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Philosophy. Since I have grown up in Orange County, I really enjoy warm weather and the beach. I'm the oldest of five children and I love working with others. I envision myself someday raising a family, and supporting them. I enjoy working with computers, discussing philosophy, and entertaining others with sleight-of-hand illusions.

I think I would really like to get into professional web development, specifically the Software-as-a-Service field. I've had experience in many different areas of Computer Science including system administration, low-level programming (assembly), artificial intelligence, distributed system theory, network programming (with C++ and sockets), web development, and higher-level C++ programming. But of all these things, I've enjoyed the web development the most. While I enjoy building the occasional website using XHTML, CSS, and JQuery, I really enjoy creating online applications that anyone with a browser can use. I think part of the fun of building web software is the instant gratification you get when you can visually see what you have been working on. Not to mention, I get an odd kind of pleasure out of coding in PHP and Ruby.

When I graduate, in early May, I plan to move back to Orange County and find a job in that area. I hope to find a company where I can work on some kind of interesting web application. I would love to have a bit of creative liberty to design and build it, and I would love to be able to speak with the customers every once in a while to hear what they might have to say. Hopefully my work will be able to make someone's life just a bit easier or more enjoyable.
